the workings of the unknown

Fri Oct 7, 2005, 11:42 PM
vampires, creatures of the night. probably one of the most famous undead. right up with zombies and mummies. the vampire curse is one of the scariest curses around. sure you get super human strength and speed. able to regenerate bullet wounds. but have you ever thought about how the curse works? the curse works by killing the body but not fully, the cells still grow and bind wounds, usually faster than a normal human but if a vampire were to lay down on a surgeons table and had someone take a look at him they would declare them dead. the heart does not beat thus a vital piece is missing in the way the body works. the curse of the vampire is dependent very much upon magic... yes I said magic. it does exist but these days its very weak but we will go over that later. the body and the cells that make it up get there energy from the curse of the vampire. you will be surprised to learn that the curse supplies this power to cells through the use of living cells, namely a certain kind of living cell, the blood cell. because of the blood cells ability to absorb oxygen and then release it when another cell, say a muscle cell needs it, it makes the blood cell the perfect living cell for the curse to feed on and use in the body of the vampire. now the curse doesn't just 'kill' the body, no it also uses the power generated by the soul of the vampire to power the curse. see in normal death the immortal soul would leave the body and go... wherever. in a vampire the curse kills the body so the soul tries to leave the body but it is caught by the curse and kept within the body thus achieving immortality, the power generated by the soul trying to constantly escape the body powers its own cage. now all this power comes with a heavy price. there is no cure for the curse of the vampire that has ever been known. thus what would happen to a vampire if you say threw him into a wood chipper. now a normal persons soul would escape and move on, but the vampires cant do that due to there curse. in this situation the soul would be bound to the largest chunk that survived and the vampire would be in a semi- conscious state while his soul wriggled in agony for eternity. hell would seem like a release for this kind of torture. now the curse of the vampire does come with some precautions. say you take something sharp and wooden... like a wooden stake...and stab it into a vampire. well through the use of magic very old powerful vampires put into the curse a precaution that when a vampire is staked with a wooden object in a fatal area. the vampire will not die, instead they go into a sort of hibernation, frozen until the wooden object is removed thus the myth that if you stab a vampire in the heart with a wooden stake he will die. now if you stab him with a metal object because of the magical construction of metal the curse can actually use it to heal the body just as fast as you can do damage to it so metal really doesn't work against vampires. oh and the whole thing about vampires haiting garlic is preposterous. only one vampire was ever afraid of garlic and that was the only vampire to reach super stardom, dracula. when he was alive he was deathly allergic to garlic but when he became a vampire he was still vary weary of the garlic until he discovered that the garlic had no ill effects on him as a vampire so he played up the superstition and birthed the myth that all vampires hate garlic.
